PRESS RELEASE & PETITION APPEAL
RE: US House of Congress Resolution 125 ;
Hezbollah's violations of international humanitarian law and the law of war in
its conflict with Israel
The World Council for the Cedars Revolution ("WCCR") commends the United States
Congress for introducing a resolution strongly condemning Hezbollah for using
civilians as human shields in its July 2006 conflict with Israel. The vaunted
fighters of Hezbollah, so valiantly portrayed by Al Manar and other Jihadist
media (and their sympathizers) to be an elite fighting force, have been exposed
for what they really are: cowards that hide behind women and children. The
international community has now caught on to Hassan Nasrallah's modus operandi
of manipulating photos to create false illusions and his far more sinister
battle tactics of holding civilians hostage and deliberately placing them in the
line of fire. While the Lebanese of all communities have long known of these
dangerous tactics and the bullying of the Hezbollah propaganda machine, it is
gratifying to see that the world community will be fooled no longer. The United
States Congress, by introducing Resolution 125 has proven this point. The WCCR
extends its gratitude to Members of Congress, Ros-Lehtinen, Klein, Pence,
Burton, Manzullo, Tancredo, Chabot, Smith, Sherman and Fortunato for their
statesmanship in condemning these despicable acts and heinous violations of the
Geneva Convention.
Hezbollah's flagrant violations of UNSCR 1559 and 1701 are clear for all to see.
Their day of reckoning is fast approaching.
